Flavor is excellent, with none of the harsh overtones sometimes found in modern types. Its awkward, almost comical pointed shape makes it inconvenient for mechanical processing, but that is no drawback to the home- or market gardener. Heads reach quite a large size, up to 10 lbs, store moderately well; its sublime flavor has earned it a place in the Slow Foods Ark of Taste. 7000 seeds/oz.
